One of the genres that my partner and I are interested in filming is romance!!
The typical target audience of the genre are female teens and young adults ages 18-45. Some genre conventions that were used to create the film are the enemies to lovers, happy ending, and forbidden love troupe. Some techniques that are used to film romance films are use of high key lighting, lots of close ups and extreme close ups to focus on the characters facial expressions, and a warm color palette using a lot of different pinks, reds, and oranges. Two of my favorite films that represent the genre are Anyone But You and Someone Great.
